Three Kansas University players earned spots on the Academic All-Big 12 Conference Women’s Tennis Team, league officials announced.

KU junior Luiza Loureiro and sophomore Ashley Filberth were two of 33 first-team members, while junior Christine Skoda earned one of seven second-team spots.

Loureiro, a Brasilia, Brazil, native is majoring in business, while Filberth from Kansas City, Mo., is a communication-studies major. Skoda hails from Edmonton, Ontario, and is working toward a sports- and fitness-management degree.

First-team members have maintained a 3.20 grade-point average or better, and the second-team members have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled matches.
