Camden, N.J. ? Kansas University’s rowing team finished strong Sunday at the Knecht Cup on the Copper River Course.
“The weekend went well,” KU coach Rob Catloth said. “We won the Varsity Four, and we took second in the Second Varsity Four race.”
Kansas won the grand final of the Varsity Four race in 7:48.8. The Jayhawks placed sixth in the final in 8:08.6 and placed second in the Second Varsity Four race in 8:09.1.
KU earned third in the Varsity Eight petite final in 7:00.0. The Jayhawks’ Second Varsity Eight boat was second in the grand final in 7:04.5.
KU will meet Cincinnati and Buffalo on April 23 in Cincinnati.
Camden, N.J. ? Kansas University’s rowing squad performed solidly Saturday at the Knecht Cup at the Cooper River Course, as each KU boat earned a spot in today’s finals.
In various semifinal races Jayhawk boats placed first and second in Varsity Four, third in the Varsity Eight, first in the Second Varsity Eight, first in the Second Varsity Four and second in the Varsity Quad.
KU also advanced in the Novice Four and Novice Eight semifinal races.
The Cup concludes today.
