Sgt. Mike Pattrick of the Lawrence Police Department said police were called just before 1 a.m. to The Granada, 1020 Mass., after a fight broke out inside the downtown nightclub. Employees removed those involved, but the fight continued in a nearby parking lot. As officers arrived, they observed a black male, later identified as Randle, yelling.

Police said Randle ran when officers approached him. He later was caught in the 1000 block of Kentucky Street. Police said he was also in possession of someone else’s driver’s license.

Randle was released from jail after posting $200 in bond — and ordered to appear in court on March 17.

Randle was arrested in November on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage of property. Charges were never filed in connection with that incident.

Jayhawk football head coach Mark Mangino was out of the office Friday and unavailable for comment. KU sports information staff had not received any information yet on the matter.
