EUGENE, ORE. ? Kansas University’s women’s basketball team claimed its first victory in three tries this season, downing Sacramento State, 70-64, Saturday at MacArthur Court.
Tamara Ransburg exploded for 18 points off 6-of-8 shooting. She also grabbed six rebounds with two steals against four turnovers.
Crystal Kemp contributed 13 points and three boards, while Blair Waltz added 10 points in 16 minutes. Freshman Lauren Ervin came off the bench to notch five rebounds and four points in 15 minutes.
Katelyn Ciampi led Sacramento State (0-4) with 13 points.
The Jayhawks will play host to Cal State Fullerton in the Jayhawk Classic at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.
