Hulse, Tabb All-Big 12

Kansas University’s Amy Hulse and Leah Tabb have been named to the All-Big 12 Conference softball team. KU’s Christi Musser was named to the second team. All three are seniors.

During conference games, right fielder Tabb hit .378 and second baseman Hulse .333. Left fielder Musser led the Jayhawks with a .370 batting average in all games, but she hit only .255 against league foes.

In addition, senior center fielder Shelly Musser, Christi’s twin sister, earned a second-team at-large berth along with freshman pitcher Serena Settlemier.

Shelly Musser, who earned all-league mention for the fourth straight year, batted .273 against Big 12 foes and .298 overall. Settlemier was 3-3 with an 0.86 earned run average in a dozen appearances against Big 12 teams.

Texas A&M catcher Selena Collins, a junior, was named player of the year. Connie Clark, who guided Texas to the regular season title, was chosen coach of the year.

Texas pitching sensation Cat Osterman, who hurled three perfect games, was named pitcher of the year and freshman of the year.
