Kansas banged nine hits and capitalized on five errors to run-rule Bradley, 8-0, in softball Tuesday at Jayhawk Field.

The Jayhawks scored a run in the first, three in the second and four in the fifth in a contest shortened to five innings because of the run rule.

Christi Musser, Melanie Wallach, Amy Hulse and Sandy Smith had two hits apiece to lead the KU rout. Both of Wallach’s hits were doubles. Musser and Smith also doubled for the Jayhawks, who improved to 15-10. Bradley dipped to 6-12.

Kirsten Milhoan was the winning pitcher. She allowed four hits all singles and struck out five batters to improve to 3-1.

“This was a good job by Kirsten throwing strikes and being aggressive,” KU coach Tracy Bunge said. “She really took care of business. Offensively, we hit the ball hard consistently. We were glad to finish this one up early with the temperatures dropping. We are ready to turn it up a notch heading into Big 12 play tomorrow.”

KU will play host today to No. 25-ranked Oklahoma State. The Big 12 twinbill will begin at 1 p.m. at Jayhawk Field.
