KU golfers tied for 11th in Louisiana tourney

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team shot a 14-over-par 302 in Monday’s first round of the Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club and is tied for 11th-place with the University of North Texas heading into today’s final round.

The second round of the 54-hole tournament that was to be played Monday afternoon was canceled because of weather. The final 18 holes are today.

Senior Andy Stewart led all KU golfers with an even-par 72 and is tied for 17th-place. Sophomore Chris Marshall and senior Conrad Roberts are tied for 44th at 4-over-par 76 while juniors Casey Harbour and Travis Hurst sit in a tie for 64th-place after posting 78s.

Tennessee leads the tournament after scorching the course for a 9-under-par 279, while the Volunteers Jason Powell has a one stroke lead over Mississippi’s Troy Muller for medalist honors after carding a 5-under-par 67.
