Kansas leads the all-time series, 5-0. Last year, a record crowd of 12,175 fans poured into the new Reed Arena to witness KU’s 78-57 victory on ESPN’s Big Monday. Kenny Gregory led KU with 15 points and seven boards.

KU is 4-0 versus the Aggies since the inaugural season of the Big 12 in 1996-97.

The five-game Kansas-Texas A&M series dates to Dec. 16, 1967, when the Jayhawks won, 78-52, in a game played in Manhattan.

The Jayhawks are 63-10 all-time versus schools from the state of Texas.

KU coach Roy Williams is 4-0 all-time against Texas A&M. Texas A&M coach Melvin Watkins is 0-2 all-time against Kansas.

A&M’s Tomas Ress (pelvic bone infection) and Andy Slocum (right shoulder surgery) are out for the season. Aaron Jack’s career may be over following his fifth concussion, second this season. Also, Larry Scott’s playing time has been limited because of an ankle injury.

The Aggies combined with Virginia Commonwealth on Dec. 2 to set an NCAA record for points in one overtime (45). VCU scored 23 and the Aggies 22.

Bernard King’s eight threes against Lamar tied a school record. His six treys in the second half tied a Big 12 record.

Kansas’ Luke Axtell teamed with A&M’s Bernard King on the Big 12 All-Star team which toured Europe over the summer.
