Pocatello, Idaho ? Kansas University senior All-American Charlie Gruber pladed fifth Saturday in the 800-meter run at the Golden Spike Invitational on Saturday.
Gruber finished in 1:50.28, less than two seconds behind winner Bryce Knight of Iowa State. Knight won in 1:48.51.
“Hopefully he gained a lot of experience from this meet that will help him at conference this week (Friday and Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.) and the NCAA Championships in March.”
