Kansas University pitchers Kara Pierce and Kirsten Milhoan allowed just one run in 14 innings combined as the Jayhawks swept NAIA softball powerhouse Oklahoma City University, 3-0 and 2-1, on Tuesday at Jayhawk Field.

Pierce (17-7) allowed no runs in a complete-game two-hitter in the opener, helping the Jayhawks (26-20) snap OCU’s 10-game winning streak. Pierce struck out eight and walked none.

In the nightcap, Milhoan (7-10) allowed an unearned run in a complete-game four-hitter against the defending NAIA national champions.

Kansas won Game One with a three-run fourth.

Megan Urquhart led off with a double, and Leah Tabb followed with a double. Courtney Wright then drilled a two-run triple to center and scored on Amy Hulse’s sacrifice fly.

Kansas scored single runs in the first and sixth innings of Game Two to complete the sweep.

Erin Garvey led off the Jayhawks’ first with a single and stole second. Garvey moved to third on Christi Musser’s bunt single and scored on a wild pitch.

Oklahoma City (30-9) tied it with a run in the fourth, but Kansas won it in the sixth. Musser led off with a walk and went to second on Megan Urquhart’s groundout. Musser scored on Tabb’s single up the middle.

The Jayhawks will play host to Missouri on Thursday. First pitch will be 4 p.m. at Jayhawk Field.
