Norman, Okla. ? The Kansas women’s soccer team lost its Big 12 Conference opener to Oklahoma, 4-0, matching its worst defeat of the season.
“We were absolutely horrendous tonight,” Kansas coach Mark Francis said.
KU (4-5) was outshot 17 to seven and was shut out for the second time this season. The host Sooners were led by Shannon Wing and Logan Womack, who each scored a goal and had an assist.
Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Gonzalez made her first start as a Jayhawk and registered four saves in 90 minutes.
KU will look to even both its conference and overall records against Oklahoma State on Sunday in a 1 p.m. match at Olathe District Activity Complex.
