After each KU basketball game this season, this is where you can find out the hardwood equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He'll rate the Jayhawk scholarship players' individual performances, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel. (Scoring: Each week, the top player in the ratings will be awarded 10 points. Second best gets nine points. Third best gets eight points, and so on and so on. The season standings are at the bottom.)
1. Sherron Collins: Remarkable blend of strength and quickness makes him a bear to guard on his drives to the hoop. Had 19 points, six assists and two turnovers.
2. Tyshawn Taylor: Played under control and fast, a combination that led to 11 points, eight assists, four steals and just one turnover.
3. Cole Aldrich: Had 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, a solid performance for a guy battling the flu.
4. Brady Morningstar: Did a sound job on Dionte Christmas and hit 3 of 4 three-point shots to finish with 11 points.
5. Markieff Morris: Finished stronger (eight points) and hit the defensive boards harder (five), but still plagued by foul trouble (four in 16 minutes).
6. Marcus Morris: Should rebound better for a guy with a great pair of hands but overall played an encouraging game with nine points and three steals in 25 minutes.
7. Travis Releford: Played energetic defense but had two fouls and a turnover in six scoreless minutes.
8. Tyrel Reed: Had trouble with Christmas in the second half and was scoreless in 16 minutes.
9. Quintrell Thomas: Two turnovers, two personals and one rebound in seven minutes.

Somehow, Kleinmann should have been mentioned for his brief performance. That 4 minute bit just before the half was encouraging. Good to know he can be used in a pinch.

Good to know he can be used in a pinch~ I agree.Kleinmann played very well in his limited time in the first half, and he knows how to set a screen. He's a little slow, but I've been impressed with his defense when he's been in there. He had 4 boards and a missed FT in 4 minutes while playing solid defense.Id put him at #7 behind Marcus for the game.

why does Collins just throw so many shots up and pray??? Self trusts four other guys to be on the court shouldn't Collins trust Self's choices? Cole keep your butt around the paint and stop losing your head and getting cheapies out on the floor - you are not a guard but a big!!! Being aggressive is great - at least you do dunk the ball instad of using the board but you do nothing more than get your hands spanked on the bench by the coaches with your dumb unnecessary fouls!!!! I believe we would rather see you on the court than sitting next to the coaches.
