Kansas University quarterback Todd Reesing was named one of 16 finalists for the Campbell Trophy, it was announced Thursday.

Given annually to the nation's top scholar-athlete, the award was formerly known as the Draddy Trophy before being renamed after William V. Campbell, a former player and coach at Columbia University.

As a finalist, Reesing will receive an $18,000 scholarship to be used toward postgraduate studies. The winner will receive $25,000 in scholarship money.

Reesing, a senior from Austin, Texas, is currently ranked among the national leaders in passing yards, completions and total offense.

Evidently the voters havern't been paying attention. I'd nominate him for a spot next to Mangino on the sideline. This is the first time in his 3.5 years that I think we need to serioulsly consider a QB change.

Can't hold it in any longer!

Every KU comment I've ever seen from Maxhawk is negative. Maxhawk, you must be a real looser with that disposition. Most of your comments are so far out in left field that they are in the bull-pen.

If you don't have anything to add about KU sports except negative criticism, please don't say anything at all.

Oh, yeah ... Todd, outsmart Texas Tech!

BTW, Maxhawk. I think you're the one not paying attention. TR has only been playing a total of three years now including this half season, and the 06 half season when he came in during Colorado. moron. .5 + 1 + 1 + .5 = 3

Maxhawk. Check the record books. Back to Back bowl victories and a last second win last year over Misery and get back to me. He rules, and will forever be a KU legend. Hopefully, wiser minds will prevail and he will get a shot at the NFL too

It appears that too much attention is being paid to a moron and not to Todd Reesing. It's pretty incredible to be listed as one of the best achievers from an academic point of view. It doesn't matter if Todd makes it to the NFL or not he will always be one of the Kansas greats around these parts. Great job Todd we are blessed to have you as our football leader. You represent the Kansas colors well.

Maxhawk. I agree man. I say one more game and we should think about Kale Pick. Only thing is we have to change our offense completly to compensate for Pick's lack of ability to throw the ball. Listen, I love Reesing. I really do. But I also like results. Throw Pick in there and see if he can survive. BTW if we can't beat Colorado then yea we do need another quarterback

we were undefeated, HCMM said the secret word, heisman, and we haven't won since.
Not Todd's fault, coach knew better than to say, "don't break a leg"
the jynx.

it's still the turnover bug and we should get out of our 'play tentative' mode.

Ya'll are nuts. end of story. 3 straight seasons TR has established himself, broken records. he has one bad game, against the best defense in the nation, and off with his head during his senior season? The only thing putting Pick in will do is set back the entire team. Lets also bench Sherron Collins, Darrell Stuckey, Jake Laptad, Kerry Meier, et al. What have they ever done? Entitlement City, Kansas.

Unless Kale Pick can prove he can do this:

Many valid points have been made. The award is based on his performance this year which we all can agree haqs been "sub par" to say the least. He is not, in my mind, deserving of the award or the nomination this year
