Kansas University basketball recruiting notes. ...
Tyshawn Taylor, a 6-foot-3 senior point guard from St. Anthony High in Jersey City, N.J., told Rivals.com on Thursday he had set visits to Virginia Tech (Sept. 28), Marquette (Oct. 12) and Virginia (Oct. 19).
He likely will make his official visit to Kansas the last weekend of October and also likely will visit Georgia Tech on a yet-to-be-determined date.
KU coach Bill Self recently had an in-home visit with Taylor.
"That was good. I like coach Self. He's a real cool dude," Taylor told the West Paterson (N.J.) Herald News.
The Herald News indicated Seton Hall was making a strong push of late.
¢Terrance Henry, a 6-9 senior from Carroll High in Monroe, La., will visit Mississippi this weekend, followed by Arkansas and LSU in successive weeks. He'll visit KU on Oct. 12 and Miami on Oct. 19.
"The plan is to take all the visits, but you never know," Carroll coach Chris Oney told Rivals.com. "He might come back from Ole Miss or Arkansas or LSU or whatever school and know that that is the place he wants to go. Certainly playing right away is important to him, and distance could play a part. But if he likes Kansas or Miami, distance wouldn't be a problem. It's all about where he is comfortable."

I saw some highlights of Tyshawn Taylor (of course I can't find the link now).
He seems very athletic, quick and has some springs too. I realize it's a highlight video, but it looks like he has no problem getting to the hoop.

I just watched some highlights of various players... some quick hits
Tyshawn Taylor - nice, nice player. Looks really quick on tape. Nice handler, too.
Greg Monroe - he's a very talented guy. Has a big body, but with perimeter skills, too. He's like Tayshaun Prince with a bigger build (and not as much range, but still, nice).
Willie Warren - Everytime I watch anything with him in it, his athleticism jumps out at me. It's startling how athletic he is.
J'Mison Morgan - A really big body. When properly motivated he can control the paint like none other. After comparing him and Monroe, I do believe they could coexist on the floor because their games are significantly different.
Xavier Henry - Long, rangy, athletic. Has a somewhat inconsistent stroke from three, but he can score from everywhere, any way you can imagine.

taylor looks like he's been well coached. he looks like he always knows where the ball is, and it looks like he's keen to help on the boards. i know, sometimes that sort of thing leads to transition opportunities for the other team if your team doesn't come up w/ it, but it's nice to see a guard work the glass a little bit.

St Anthony's has been a Strong program for decades. Any team leader from there should be very well prepared.
