**6:50 p.m.** – Something that may interest only me: The [Final Four media][1] received an e-mail this week going through all the opportunities available to us while we’re here in Texas. This one was interesting: “Per NCAA guidelines, media cannot be in the (team) hotel lobby. They can be on the street outside the hotel, catching the bus pulling up or filming them getting off the bus. Interviews (if granted by the school) must be done outside.”It’s probably a good idea, considering there’s 9,421,138 media members here (that’s an estimate), and every single reporter with an ego wants an exclusive interview. It was still interesting because I’ve hung out in the team hotel lobby before, talking to fans or waiting for KU’s bus to arrive. In fact, it’s standard procedure for local media in March. Here’s what I want to know: What would happen if I slip in there just so I have something to blog about? Like a hidden-camera investigation? How would they even know I was a writer? Maybe I’ll get a shock collar tomorrow when I pick up my credential. That’d certainly keep me away.I’ll update you on what I find out. Actually, no I won’t. You couldn’t possibly care any less.**6:16 p.m.** – Greetings from San Antonio. Everyone down here but me is wearing a warmup or a polo shirt of some sort with the name of a school. There are _a ton_ of coaches down here from all over. Kansas State coach **Frank Martin** and Illinois State coach **Tim Jankovich** were on our flight. **Mark Turgeon** was spotted on the River Walk, as were about 1,000 other coaches at Hooters (I went there because the Royals were on TV. Swear.)Anyway, I’ll post 2-3 times tonight with what I see or don’t see. Here are a couple of interesting links to keep us busy in the meantime:**Jason Beck, MLB.com**: The Greene Room mentioned Curtis Granderson’s love affair with KU last week. Here’s some [more details about it.][2] Granderson needs KU to win, of course. The Detroit Tigers **are 0-3 this season** (bolded for emphasis).**Scott Miller, Daily Iowan**: Here’s a solid feature about [KU athletic director Lew Perkins][3] that ran in the student newspaper of his alma mater. Perkins told me he was very happy with how it turned out.**NCAA.com**: [As always.][4] [1]: http://www.whoisandrewwee.com/images/blog0610/crowd.jpg [2]: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080401&content_id=2479034&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb [3]: http://media.www.dailyiowan.com/media/storage/paper599/news/2008/03/31/Sports/Building.On.Iowa.Lessons-3292009.shtml [4]: http://www.ncaa.com
