Embiid’s double-double good for top spot in loss at Oklahoma State

By Staff     Mar 2, 2014

**1 – Joel Embiid:** Cowboys doubled him all night, making it difficult for the perimeter players to feed Embiid. Even when they tried to force it into him, Cowboys defenders frequently intercepted the passes. He made 4 of 6 field goals and all five free throws and dominated the defensive glass. All but two of his 13 rebounds came on the defensive end and he scored 13 points and had three steals.

**2 – Wayne Selden:** Did a nice defensive job on Marcus Smart in the first half and scored 13 points with just one of KU’s 22 turnovers.

**3 – Perry Ellis:** Had trouble checking Le’Bryan Nash when that was his assignment, but did pick up eight rebounds, five on the offensive glass.

**4 – Andrew Wiggins:** Couldn’t get his shots to drop but did a good job of following up his misses. Made 5 of 16 shots, 1 of 7 threes and had six turnovers. Five of his seven rebounds were of the offensive variety.

**5 – Tarik Black:** Had six rebounds and four fouls in nine minutes.

**6 – Jamari Traylor:** Scored on a nice drive down the lane, picked up a steal and a blocked shot and had turnovers on a three-point night in 14 minutes of action.

**7 – Frank Mason:** Missed all five shots and produced two points, two assists and a steal and turned it over once in 16 minutes.

**8 – Naadir Tharpe:** Rough night, other than the defense he played against Phil Forte. Hit a pair of three-pointers during a four-minute span early in the second half, but other than that had an extremely difficult night, dribbling into traps and throwing passes into crowded places. Had six points, five assists and six turnovers and made 2 of 8 field goals.

**9 – Conner Frankamp:** Played five minutes and had zeroes across the board.
