Tait: Xavier, Markieff lead KU in ratings

Note: The Journal-World’s Matt Tait filled in for Tom Keegan for the KU-La Salle edition of the Keegan Ratings.
1. Xavier Henry: Career-high 31 points in just the ninth game of his college career. Sweet stroke from three-point land and a nearly unstoppable desire to get to the basket led to the huge day.
2. Markieff Morris: Philly native tough on his hometown team. Finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and two assists in 28 minutes.
3. Cole Aldrich: Quietest 19-point, six-rebound performance of the season. Set the tone for the game with his inside play in the first half.
4. Tyshawn Taylor: Excellent off the bench yet again. Ten points (on just six shots), six assists, three rebounds and no turnovers.
5. Marcus Morris: His size and quickness helped KU out-rebound the Explorers, 44-34. Tallied nine points and six rebounds in 21 minutes.
6. Sherron Collins: Off day shooting the ball — just 1-of-12 overall and 1-of-4 from three-point land — but led the Jayhawks to a hot start and finished with six assists.
7. Thomas Robinson: Numbers don’t indicate how active he was early. Finished with four boards (two offensive) and a steal in eight minutes.
8. C.J. Henry: Got in earlier than he had been but still only played 11 minutes and finished with just three points.
9. Elijah Johnson: Played at less than 100 percent and logged just six minutes and one point in the second start of his career.
10. Tyrel Reed: Non-factor in 10 minutes with just two shots.
The Keegan Ratings: Season Standings
