The Kansas football team completed a quartet of transfer wide receivers on Monday, earning the commitment of former Columbia wideout Bryson Canty.
Canty will be in his final year of eligibility after playing four seasons at the Ivy League school, including one campaign, 2023, in which he missed the vast majority due to injury and redshirted. In 2024 he helped the Lions win their first Ivy League football title since 1961, catching 43 passes for 760 yards with nine touchdowns, and matching similar numbers from his sophomore season in 2022.
The native of Pfafftown, North Carolina, was a three-star recruit coming out of Reagan High School, where he also played lacrosse and basketball. As a transfer, he also had offers from schools such as Liberty and Wake Forest.
Canty is the fourth wideout to commit to KU during the winter transfer cycle, following Cam Pickett (Ball State), Levi Wentz (Albany) and most recently Emmanuel Henderson Jr. (Alabama), as the Jayhawks have fully restocked their room after losing their four primary wide receivers to graduation. They did also lose Jarred Sample to the transfer portal, but still have Doug Emilien and Keaton Kubecka on the roster, along with incoming freshmen Jackson Cook, Bryson Hayes, Tate Nagy and Jaden Nickens.
Other receivers with whom KU had recently been linked in the portal included Dekel Crowdus of Hawaii and Bobby Golden of Akron.
