Florida International University wide receiver Dean Patterson (11) makes a one handed catch for a two point conversion during an NCAA football game on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 in Miami.

The transfer portal has ballooned to such an epic scale this year that it is nearly impossible to keep track of whom any given school is targeting.

But via public posts about scholarship offers, it is at least possible to get a window into the sort of talent the Kansas football team is going after as it looks to replace a monumental senior class.

On offense, that mostly means wide receivers and offensive linemen.

Below is a list of nearly every offensive player who had publicly reported interest from KU through Thursday morning. This does not include a few players whom KU had already targeted in the earliest days of the portal, such as former Columbia wideout Bryson Canty, though they are still in play.

So far, the Jayhawks have acquired one offensive transfer, running back Leshon Williams from Iowa.

Wide receiver

— Harvey Broussard, Louisiana

6-foot-3, 183 pounds, from Saint Martinville, Louisiana

Notes: Broussard has racked up 803 yards and five touchdowns in two years of action with the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Other interest: Double-digit power-conference programs are recruiting Broussard, including Cincinnati, Houston and TCU out of the Big 12.

— Jeff Caldwell, Lindenwood

6-foot-5, 200 pounds, from Louisville, Kentucky

Notes: Caldwell, who will have one year of eligibility to play, tallied 53 catches for 1,032 yards and 11 touchdowns and was a first-team all-conference selection. The Jayhawks saw him up close and personal when they played the Lions in the season opener and held him to two grabs for four yards.

Other interest: KU was his first power-conference offer, and others have come in since from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, UCF and Virginia Tech.

— Caleb Goodie, Colorado State

6-foot-1, 170 pounds, from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Notes: Goodie caught 21 passes for 436 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore, including a one-handed catch over the middle against Air Force that he turned into a season-long 85-yard touchdown.

Other interest: Goodie has 11 power-conference offers, including, in the Big 12, Arizona, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Texas Tech, TCU and Utah.

California wide receiver Nyziah Hunter celebrates after a score during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Auburn, Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, in Auburn, Ala.

— Nyziah Hunter, Cal

6-foot-2, 210 pounds, from Salinas, California

Notes: Hunter led the Golden Bears in receiving yards as a redshirt freshman in 2024. He caught 40 passes for 578 yards and five touchdowns in Cal’s first season in the ACC.

Other interest: Offers from Arizona State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Syracuse, Wisconsin and Utah in mere hours after his portal entry demonstrate that Hunter is in high demand.

— Aziah Johnson, Michigan State

6-foot, 175 pounds, from Richmond, Virginia

Notes: According to multiple reports, Johnson plans to visit Kansas over the weekend. Another young and promising option, Johnson redshirted in 2023 and then had 16 catches for 276 yards and a pair of touchdowns this past season.

Other interest: Kansas State is Johnson’s other reported visit destination in the days ahead.

— Omari Kelly, Middle Tennessee

6-foot, 180 pounds, from Trussville, Alabama

Notes: Rivals reports Kelly will visit KU next week. The former Auburn wideout broke out for the Blue Raiders as a junior in 2024 with 53 catches for 869 yards and four touchdowns.

Other interest: Rivals has also mentioned visits to Louisville and Michigan State for Kelly, who has not posted about any specific scholarship offers.

Fresno State wide receiver Jalen Moss (18) runs back a punt against Washington Sate during the second half of an NCAA college football game in Fresno, Calif., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024.

— Jalen Moss, Fresno State

6-foot-1, 175 pounds, from Menlo Park, California

Notes: An early entrant to the portal due to coaching changes, Moss caught 48 passes for 563 yards and four touchdowns while also returning a punt for a score.

Other interest: Six of the seven teams to offer Moss so far are in the Big 12.

— Dean Patterson, FIU

6-foot-2, 202 pounds, from Lutz, Florida

Notes: Patterson, who JayhawkSlant reports will visit KU, has had a lengthy career that began at the Division II level and gradually built to a 50-catch, 685-yard, seven-touchdown performance with the Panthers in 2024 as the second option behind another sought-after transfer, Eric Rivers. Patterson will be a sixth-year senior next season.

Other interest: On3 also reported that Patterson will visit Arizona and Georgia Tech.

— Chase Sowell, East Carolina

6-foot-4, 195 pounds, from Humble, Texas

Notes: Sowell averaged about 20 yards per reception with 34 catches for 678 yards and three touchdowns, his second straight year with at least 600 yards. He has two years to play.

Other interest: He has offers from a dozen power-conference schools, including in the Big 12 alone Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and TCU.

Tight end

— Connor Cox, South Carolina

6-foot-6, 251 pounds, from Jacksonville, Florida

Notes: Cox played just 40 snaps in two years after enrolling early at South Carolina in 2023 with one reception for nine yards and redshirted in one of his seasons so he retains three years left to play.

Other interest: KU was the first offer Cox announced after entering the portal officially on Monday. He then received a Michigan State offer on Wednesday.

Other interest: Tulane and Virginia Tech have offered Mayberry.

— Tyler Mercer, North Texas

6-foot-4, 290 pounds, from Prosper, Texas

Notes: Much like KU’s current lineman Bryce Foster, Mercer started at center as a true freshman. He earned a 68.5 PFF grade in the eight games he played, including six starts. On3 named him a freshman All-American.

Other interest: Mercer has been a hot commodity, with offers from schools like Arizona State, Miami and North Carolina.

— Tyson Ruffins, Nevada

6-foot-2, 291 pounds, from Carson, California

Notes: KU analyst Angus McClure, who gave Ruffins his offer, was Ruffins’ offensive line coach at Nevada in 2023, and the Jayhawks’ new co-offensive coordinator Matt Lubick was Ruffins’ OC this past season. Ruffins started nine games at left guard for the Wolf Pack as a redshirt freshman.

Other interest: Cal and Stanford are the only other power-conference schools on Ruffins so far.

— Kendall Stanley, Charlotte

6-foot-5, 290 pounds, from Charlotte, North Carolina

Notes: Upon entering the portal, Stanley said he has three years of eligibility to play. Even though he already spent three seasons at Charlotte, he played just 17 snaps in one game against Navy in 2023, suffering an ankle injury in the process. In extended action for the first time, Stanley started 12 games at right tackle with a 77.7 PFF grade in 2024.

Other interest: BYU, Miami, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech are the power-conference teams targeting Stanley.

— Kahlee Tafai, Washington

6-foot-5, 338 pounds, from Los Angeles

Notes: Tafai took over as UW’s left tackle late in his redshirt freshman season, starting four games.

Other interest: Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Minnesota, Nebraska and USC are among the top schools to offer Tafai so far.

Other interest: Tanner is also visiting Kansas State and Northwestern, according to JayhawkSlant.com.

— Delano Townsend, UAB

Other interest: The SEC is already keen on Townsend, who has picked up offers from Arkansas, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
