Kansas tennis returns to top-10

By Staff Report     Mar 12, 2019

The Kansas women’s tennis team is ranked No. 10 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) poll, which was released Tuesday afternoon.

KU jumped two spots from last week’s ranking of No. 12. In its last competition on March 3, the Jayhawks won at Oregon by recording their fourth sweep of the season. Two days prior to that, KU was edged by then-No. 22 Washington, now No. 7, by a 4-3 margin.

Prior to its No. 12 ranking last week, KU had spent the previous week at No. 7, matching the program’s highest-ever ranking with the 1994 Jayhawks.

Kansas begins Big 12 Conference play at 5 p.m. Friday at Oklahoma State.
