Kansas walks way to 19-6 victory over Western Illinois in regular-season baseball finale

Kansas reached base 14 times on walks and three times on hit batsmen in a 19-6 rout over visiting Western Illinois in a game shortened to seven innings in Sunday’s regular-season finale.

James Cosentino (six runs and seven RBI) in the past four games, continued his hot streak for the Jayhawks (26-28) by going 2 for 3 and driving in three runs. KU opens Big 12 tournament play Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. as the No. 8 seed vs. top-seeded Texas at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
