Former Kansas golfers Chase Hanna and Chris Thompson made it through the first stage of Web.com Tour Q school Friday in Nebraska City, Neb., at Arbor Links, where the top 24 and ties moved on to the second stage.
Hanna and Thompson finished in a six-way tie for 10th with a four-day total of 6 under par. Hanna shot 74-67-69-68 to advance and Thompson shot 68-69-72-69. Each Jayhawk could have finished four strokes worse and still qualified.
Former KU golfer Nate Barbee competed at the same qualifying site and missed advancing by two strokes.
