Kansas University first baseman Maddie Stein was named Tuesday the Big 12 softball scholar-athlete of the year.
Stein, who graduated in May with a degree in sports management, became KU’s all-time RBI leader in 2015. She also ranks third in career batting average with a .349 mark.
