Kansas University softball senior first baseman Maddie Stein was named winner of the Big Jay Award, KU announced Thursday. Stein completed her KU career with a school-record 150 RBIs.
The Big Jay Award is presented to the student-athlete that best exemplifies what it means to be a part of Kansas softball on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Other KU award winners: Daniella Chavez, freshman of the year; Alicia Pille, pitcher of the year; Chaley Brickey, offensive player of the year; Taylor McElhaney, defensive player of the year; Sophia Templin, Jayhawk Tough Award; and Frank Masterson, support staff member of the year.
