? Kansas University’s men’s and women’s track and field teams could not keep up with their in-state foes, as they combined to finish third in the Kansas State-Kansas-Wichita State triangular Saturday.

Kansas State’s men’s and women’s squads scored a combined 261 points to beat out second-place Wichita State by 44 points, and the Jayhawks rounded out the standings with 202 points.

“I think we got beat by teams that truly performed better than us today,” Kansas coach Stanley Redwine said.

Four Jayhawks won their respective events, with Evan Landes coasting to victory in the men’s 3,000-meter run, Josh Munsch taking first in the men’s 1,000 meters and Kenneth McCuin and Whitney Adams sweeping the men’s and women’s 400-meter dashes.
