Two Jayhawks on academic tennis team

Kansas University senior Maria Belen Ludueña and sophomore Maria Jose Cardona were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Team on Tuesday after achieving grade-point averages higher than 3.20.

A native of Curicó, Chile, Ludueña is majoring in economics with a minor in business. This season, Luduena touts a 14-13 mark in doubles and has gone 12-13 this season in singles play.

Cardona, a product of Santiago, Colombia, is majoring in illustration with a minor in business. The second-time honoree has gone 11-10 in doubles this season, primarily teaming up with Ludueña.
