Fans line up for autographs from the Jayhawks.

Today’s Fan Appreciation Day and open practice for the Kansas University football program will go on as scheduled.

The rain that moved through the area overnight cleared out in time for things to proceed as planned.

The practice will run from 1:30-4:15 p.m. at Memorial Stadium and will be open to the public free of charge.

KU fans will be allowed to watch practice from the bleachers and are encouraged to stick around afterwards for autographs and photo opportunities with the Jayhawk players and coaches.

Today’s event also will give KU fans their first chance to check out the new-look Memorial Stadium, which no longer has a track around the playing surface and features a decorative, black fence surrounding the south end.
