Updated roster shows big gains for several KU football players

Kansas University football officials on Monday released an updated player roster with several new weights, many of them for the newcomers.

The weights that changed were from their most recent weigh-in and differed from what was listed on signing day last February, before many of the players arrived in Lawrence and began working with KU strength coach Scott Holsopple.

Here’s a quick rundown of the players whose listed weight changed:

Freshman offensive lineman Apa Visinia down 20 from 380 pounds to 360 pounds

Freshman running back Corey Avery up 25 from 170 to 195

Freshman center Jacob Bragg down 10 from 305 to 295

Junior defensive lineman Kapil Fletcher up 14 from 261 to 275

Sophomore quarterback Montell Cozart up 10 from 190 to 200

Freshman cornerback Matthew Boateng up 10 from 175 to 185

Junior defensive lineman Andrew Bolton up 5 from 285 to 290

Freshman wide receiver Darious Crawley up 7 from 183 to 190

Junior cornerback Ronnie Davis up 10 from 185 to 195

Freshman safety Joe Dineen up 2 from 208 to 210

Senior offensive lineman Ngalu Fusimalohi down 5 from 315 to 310

Freshman defensive lineman Lay’Trion Jones down 2 from 297 to 295

Junior running back De’Andre Mann up 3 from 195 to 198

Freshman wide receiver Tyler Patrick up 6 from 170 to 176

Junior cornerback Kevin Short up 5 from 185 to 190

Freshman linebacker Kyron Watson up 15 from 220 to 235

Freshman defensive lineman D.J. Williams up 4 from 288 to 292

Junior offensive lineman Devon Williams up 20 from 340 to 360

Freshman defensive lineman Daniel Wise up 19 from 241 to 260.
