Kansas baseball falls to Missouri State

Kansas University surrendered three runs in the top of the ninth, and the Jayhawks losing streak hit four games with a 6-5 setback to Missouri State on Wednesday at Hoglund Ballpark.

KU — which has lost nine of its last 11 games — carried a 5-3 lead into the ninth. Closer Stephen Villines (1-2) gave up three straight hits that made it 5-all, and a booted grounder by Colby Wight at third allowed the go-ahead run to score.

Kansas (23-2) had 13 hits on the night, including a career-best 5-for-5, two-RBI performance by Michael Suiter.

Missouri State improved to 18-19.

The Jayhawks will travel Friday for a three-game series at Baylor.
