Lightning ends women’s tourney

? The third and final round of the SMU Women’s Golf Invitational Sunday was canceled 45 minutes in Sunday due to lightning in the Dallas area.

As a result, Kansas University placed fifth in the 16-team field with a two-round total of 605.

KU’s final placings: Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, tied for seventh, 147 (3 over); Pornvipa Sakdee, tied for 23rd, 153; Minami Levonowich and Meghan Potee, tied for 28th, 154; and Thanuttra Boonraksasat, tied for 64th, 161.

Baylor won the team title with 591. KU was fifth with 605.

The Jayhawks will compete April 19-20 in the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
