Charlotte, N.C. ? After a successful stint with Charlotte’s summer league team, the Bobcats have reached a deal with undrafted rookie Sherron Collins to help with depth at point guard.
The two-year deal is not guaranteed, but has two triggers before January that would allow him to make the full amount of the league-minimum contract. Collins is in Charlotte to sign the deal on Friday.
The former Kansas product will join D.J. Augustin and newly signed Shaun Livingston as point guards on Charlotte’s roster. The Bobcats lost last year’s starter, Raymond Felton, to New York in free agency.
Collins closed the Orlando summer league last month with 32 points and hit seven of 11 three-pointers for Charlotte against the Magic.
