Ames, Iowa ? The Kansas University women’s tennis team won five of six singles matches and swept all three doubles contests to earn a 6-1 victory Saturday against host Iowa State.
KU (3-8 overall, 1-2 Big 12 Conference) opened the competition with its three double victories to earn the team doubles point and followed up with straight-set victories in all five completed matches, the most dominant a 6-1, 6-1 triumph by Edina Horvath at No. 3 singles.
Iowa State earned its lone point via a default at No. 6 singles.
KU will return to action next Saturday when it plays host to Nebraska. The dual is set to begin at 11 a.m.
