Wissel earns NCAA spot

Kansas University’s Colby Wissel ran a career-best 7 minutes, 53.08 seconds in the men’s 3,000 meters Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind., to qualify automatically for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

As it stands now, three Jayhawks have qualified automatically for the NCAA meet next weekend in Fayetteville, Ark. – junior Egor Agafonov in the men’s weight throw, junior Kate Sultanova in the women’s pole vault and Wissel in the 3,000.
