Evansville, Ind. ? Sean Ogirri scored 13 points to lead Wichita State to a 66-61 victory over Evansville on Saturday.
Kyle Wilson had 11 points and Ryan Martin added seven points and seven rebounds for the Shockers (14-8, 5-6 Missouri Valley Conference).
Matt Webster led Evansville (12-10, 5-6) with 15 points and six rebounds as the Aces were outrebounded 35-19.
Ogirri scored all 13 of his points in the second half as Wichita State used a 7-0 run over the first 57 seconds of the second half to take a seven-point lead.
Evansville pulled to within one point on a layup by Bradley Strickland 4:04 into the second half, but couldn’t take the lead as the Shockers hit 13 free throws over the final 15:56.
