Softball coaches pick Kansas sixth

Kansas University, surprise winner of last spring’s Big 12 Conference softball tournament, has been tapped for sixth place in the league’s annual preseason coaches poll.

Texas A&M was the coaches’ pick to capture the league’s regular season title. The Aggies received eight of the possible 10 first-place votes.

Baylor was ranked second, Nebraska third, Oklahoma fourth and defending national champion Texas fifth.
