KU soccer defeats Alabama in ugly game

? Emily Strinden’s goal in the 94th minute lifted the Kansas University soccer team past Alabama, 2-1, Friday.

The Jayhawks improved to 3-1 overall.

“It wasn’t a pretty game,” KU coach Mark Francis said.

After the teams played to a 1-1 tie through 90 minutes of play, KU scored following a corner kick at 93:35.

The Jayhawks will complete play in the UAB Classic on Sunday with a noon match against No. 12 Duke at West Campus Field.
