Waco, Texas ? Kansas University’s Denita Young and Sheldon Battle placed second in the javelin and shot put to highlight the Jayhawks’ performance on the final day of the Big 12 track championships.
Young, a senior from Liberal, threw a personal best 168-3 in the javelin, while Battle, a senior from Jamestown, N.Y., tossed 62-1 in the shot.
