Kansas University football coach Mark Mangino said on signing day he still was searching for a cornerback. He might have gotten his guy Thursday.
According to rivals.com, El Camino (Calif.) College cornerback Clavens Charles has committed to KU, becoming the Jayhawks’ first post-signing day commitment for 2005. Charles finished school at El Camino in December. He said he visited KU this week and committed while in Lawrence.
Charles is 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds. He plans to enroll at KU in June in time for summer school, and participate in summer conditioning with the team before practices begin in August.
“I fit into the schemes that they run, and I think I can have an immediate impact,” Charles told rivals. “It’s very similar to what we did at El Camino.”
