KU-San Diego State hoops on Jan. 5 set for 3:30 p.m. tip-off


The San Diego State at Kansas men's basketball game on Sunday, Jan. 5, will begin at 3:30 p.m., CBS Television announced Sunday evening.

The start of the KU-SDSU game was determined by CBS's NFL Playoff schedule. The Jan. 5 contest will be the first time Kansas will have appeared on CBS during the 2013-14 season.

Prior to the San Diego State contest, No. 16 Kansas (8-3) will play host to Toledo (12-0) at 7 p.m. Monday in Allen Fieldhouse.

The Toledo game will be televised on Jayhawk IMG TV/ESPN3.

San Diego State is 10-1 on the season and ranked 20th in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches' polls and plays at Colorado State on Wednesday before making the trip to Lawrence.

Every time we get a Sunday CBS game on NFL Wild Card weekend, we are always the 3:30 game. I don't know why they bother to say either 12:30 or 3:30...

Take care of business tonight. Wonder if Tarik can back to back? No Judy Garland passes or Bert Lahr defense please.

Well get ready to see only a part of our game .. CBS has no other channels ( like ESPN ) to broadcast if the game runs late or into overtime. Keep your fingers crossed and lets hope all goes well.

I am taking a few friends to the game and look forward to a great weekend. Ku should be firing on all cylinders after a full week of practice now that they are back from holidays and unlimited practices have begun.
