Kansas forward Marcus Morris was named Big 12 player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Morris, a 6-foot-9 forward from Philadelphia, averaged 18 points and 7.3 rebounds while making 20 of 32 (62.5 percent) shots from the field. He also tied his career high with 26 points against Ohio on Friday.
Morris' 19 points per game average is good for fourth in the Big 12. He has been KU's leading scorer in five of six games this season.
Missouri's Ricardo Ratliffe picked up the Big 12's Rookie of the Week honor.

he deserves it...way to go Marcus! we're really playing a great brand of team basketball...and our overall athleticsm is very hard for our opponents to deal with, as they try and execute their offense.
i believe the sky is the limit for this team, and with Marcus leading the way, this could be a very special year.
and just wait till Josh runs on the court.....my goodness, our athletic ability will be off the chart!

and when Selby is playing finally KU will take both awards quite frequently.
