Kansas defensive lineman Maxwell Onyegbule was named the Big 12's co-defensive player of the week, the conference announced Monday.

Onyegbule, a senior from Arlington, Texas, had two sacks, a tackle-for-loss, a pass breakup and six total tackles in KU's 34-7 victory over UTEP on Saturday. He shared the award with Texas defensive lineman Lamarr Houston.

Texas Tech's Taylor Potts was selected as the Big 12 offensive player of the week, while Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant was special teams player of the week.

great for Maxwell. our d line had a great game....great strides made.

Houston, per the Texas website, had 4 tackles, two for loss, 1 sack and 1 pass break up.

so our guy had more total tackles and more sacks...and the same number of break ups. sounds like Mr. Onyegbule had a better game. Oh well....UT needs something....tee he.
