Kansas Senate resolves: No more “B” schools for KU basketball team in March

The Kansas Senate on Thursday adopted a resolution that says the Kansas University men’s basketball team should no longer play teams that start with the letter “B” in March.

Despite KU’s reigning national championship and history of basketball excellence, the killer B-team losses to Bucknell in 2005, Bradley in 2006 -- both in the NCAA Tournament — and Baylor earlier Thursday in the Big 12 Tournament produce too much “heartache” among Jayhawk fans, the resolution stated.

The resolution by state Sen. David Wysong, R-Mission Hills, an avid KU fan, was adopted on a voice vote just before the Senate adjourned for the day.

Nice, the State of Kansas has so many internal problems that they can barely afford to pay thier employees, yet the Senate has time to make this asinine resolution. I'm as big of a Jayhawk fan as there is, but this is just plain dumb. David Wysong might be a "avid KU fan", but he is also a moron who is wasting taxpayer's money.

Hurry, send the paperwork to Indianpolis before the committee puts us with Butler as a 3-6 pairing in a second round game. Actually, I'm more scared of a 3-6 matchup with Gonzaga in Portland, OR which might as well be a home game for them. Way to step up to the plate this weekend fellas to try and win KC as our 1st-2nd round site.

a resolution is just the senate's official opinion on something... it doesn't carry any weight at all so no its actually not wasting the taxpayer's money

Why not just pass a resolution that forces the Jayhawks to play real defense against "B" teams?

More important than whether or not Infinite was being sarcastic: Which taxpayer was he referring to? I'd hate to be the one whose money was being wasted.

On the contrary, I think we should play more of those "B" teams. We should break the habit of losing to "B" teams.

this is just plain stupid. Politicians should pay attention to their own issues and not weigh in on sports. The President also has no business or time talking about a football playoff. It makes them seem like their attention is not on the heavy issues of the day.
We will undoubtedly play baylor sometimes and undoubtedly lose to them occasionally. So freakin' what. We lost to Rhode Island, UTEP and others that will also live in infamy.
I was in the middle of missouri fans two arrowheads ago and it was the worst. I notice that OU and Tex a&m lost unexpectedly also. It is so dumb to waste any time on what name the schools start with. When we lost to bucknell and bradley, it is obvious that we would have lost to most of the alphabet too. KU, amid certain talents, tends to throw the ball away, drive and shoot into trees, get selfish with the ball and try to make things happen that aren't there, fail to defend gunners at times, throw the ball into the middle into several defenders' hands, and be very unbalanced in scoring, and on a reverse under the bucket, cole needs to stop flipping it up there and missing. He is big enough to reverse dunk all of those. the twins need up and under moves and to fake their defenders into the air at times before shooting. we need more experience playing together, which leads to chemistry, which leads to championships... you know... like last year. Speaking of which, it is difficult to get very excited about these shortfalls while knowing we are the champions and that cannot be erased. I don't care what letter they start with. Yesterday we would have lost to Texas, osu, ou, mu and maybe KSU. We peaked against MU. Hopefully we can regenerate that. I know that we are somewhat sore and a little rest will pay dividends. We were not full strength for big 8 in 1988 and lost... only to revenge KSU, hated duke, and OU to win the crown. We aren't as good as that team, but we will be better next week than today.
the only politician i want to hear from is the gov when we beat MU and KSU.

Lighten up all you LeRoys! The KS senate has a ton of really heavy intense stuff to deal with. Every now and then they need to take a breather! OMG, it sounds as though they did this in the last 15 minutes of the day. And, the resolution probably took 15 minutes to write. So, yeah, 1 guy wasted 30 minutes and the rest of the senate wasted 15. Hummm??? I bet it took most of you longer than that write your rant. So, everyone, please get back to work and quit wasting your employers money!

you know the last five minutes of your work day, when its not worth getting started on any projects and you just want to tell a joke or look something funny up on the internet before you go? THAT is when the senate did this. it's not like they sat around all day stewing about this "important issue" they were just trying to lighten up an otherwise bum day for kansas basketball (since K-State lost too)

lighten up unless you NEVER waste time at YOUR job...
