The Keegan Ratings
Rush again a Husker sniper
After each KU basketball game this season, this is where you can find out the hardwood equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He'll rate the Jayhawk scholarship players' individual performances, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel. (Scoring: Each week, the top player in the ratings will be awarded 10 points. Second best gets nine points. Third best gets eight points, and so on and so on. The season standings are at the bottom)
1. Brandon Rush: Generated 17 points on just eight field goal attempts, Rush also had eight defensive rebounds and three steals. He made 5 of 7 three-point shots.
2. Darrell Arthur: He abused his smaller defenders and finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.
3. Russell Robinson: Diminutive Cookie Miller stripped him once and Russell didn’t let that happen again. He played excellent pressure defense and contributed nine points, three assists and four steals.
4. Darnell Jackson: Another strong effort, despite 3 of 7 performance from the free throw line. Finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
5. Sherron Collins: Had a hot shooting touch and scored 10 points in 17 minutes.
6. Cole Aldrich: Improving at a rapid rate, Aldrich (four rebounds and two blocked shots in nine minutes) pursues rebounds aggressively, has a knack for blocking shots and has shown flashes of offensive prowess. Getting playing time the old-fashioned way by earning it.
7. Mario Chalmers: Took atypical bad shot early in the shot clock, clanking his only three-point attempt off the rim. Scored season-low three points but did contribute seven assists and three blocked shots.
8. Sasha Kaun: Six points, three rebounds, three steals, a few missed easy shots in 15 minutes.
9. Rod Stewart: Three rebounds and three assists made up for him attempting a three-point shot, never a good idea.
10. Tyrel Reed: Improving ability to keep his man from blowing by him on the dribble is his path to more playing time.
11. Jeremy Case: Lost the ball out of bounds on a breakaway layup and generally didn’t have his best performance.

Case is pathetic. Enough said.
