Kansas freshman David McCormack talks to reporters Monday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.

On Sunday, an MRI of starting center Udoka Azubuike’s right hand and wrist revealed that he tore ligaments and would need season-ending surgery.

“Now is the time to step up and the team needs to become more of a group,” McCormack said. “I just think I have been productive in the time I get our there. Now when I get more time, I need to keep that same consistency and be productive.”

KU plays host to TCU at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
