**1 – Devonte Graham:** Smooth and under control in transition, Graham used subtle moves to free himself for jumpers, hit them, and penetrated well. When UC Santa Barbara took a 15-14 lead with 7:47 left in the first half, Graham went to work. he nailed a jumper at the free-throw line, set up Brannen Greene for a wide-open three that Greene hit, made a free-throw line jumper set up by a fake pass and then hit an 18-footer, a masterful four-possession, 90-second run during which he scored seven points and had an assist, turning a one-point deficit into an eight-point lead. Graham scored 10 of his team-high 14 points in the first half of his college basketball career.

**2 – Perry Ellis:** Efficiently produced a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, including 10 boards off the offensive glass. Scored the first bucket of the KU season by dribbling into the lane and executing a spin move.

**3 – Cliff Alexander:** Scored eight points in eight second-half minutes and finished with nine points in 12 minutes. Hit a pair of mid-range jumpers.

“No, no, no, good shot, Cliff,” Self joked of the shots. “He acted like he knew what he was doing when he took them.”

**4 – Jamari Traylor:** Played a strong defensive game against UC Santa Barbara All-American candidate Alan Williams, who scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the final 5:10. Battled hard on the boards against Williams and finished with 10 boards to Williams’ 13.

**5 – Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk:** Moves his feet very well on defense, handles the ball great and is a very smooth athlete. Created play of the night when he skied for a defensive rebound, took it up the court himself, busted his defender with a nasty cross-over dribble and fed Alexander for a thundering dunk.

**6 – Frank Mason:** Needs to take better care of the ball but did a nice job defensively. Had 12 points, one assist and four turnovers. Hit a three-point jumper early in the game but missed his next two long-range shots.

**7 – Wayne Selden:** Penetrated well enough to get to the free-throw line, where he made 6 of 9 shots. Shot just 2 of 8 from the field and missed all three three-point attempts.

**8 – Brannen Greene:** He’ll have some big scoring nights. This just wasn’t one of them. Played 17 minutes and totaled three points, two rebounds and an assist.

**9 – Landen Lucas:** Treated to a beautiful feed from Greene, he tossed it off the backboard with his left hand for a bucket and in nine minutes added two rebounds, a steal, two fouls and two turnovers.

**10 – Hunter Mickelson:** Missed a short baseline jumper and blocked a shot in two minutes.

**11 – Kelly Oubre:** Played four minutes and had an assist and a turnover. He’ll figure out what he needs to do in practice to move up in the rotation, but he’s not there yet.
