KU’s bigs dominate ratings

By Staff     Jan 23, 2010

1. Cole Aldrich: Put smiles on the faces of many family members by producing 19 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.

2. Marcus Morris: After starting the game on fire, fell into a rut of missing bunny after bunny, but at least he kept grabbing his own misses and putting them back up. Finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, six on the offensive boards. Has played very well for four games in a row.

3. Jeff Withey: Surpassed career minutes in one game and made the most of his 12 minutes. Did a super job of defending Craig Brackins and showed skill and athleticsm in producing eight points, five rebounds and a blocked shot.

4. Brady Morningstar: Making second consecutive start, showed aggressiveness driving to the hoop and finished with seven points, seven rebounds and three assists.

5. Sherron Collins: Was guilty a couple of times of taking bad shots early in the shot clock, but as the game wore on he realized it wasn’t his day shooting-wise and looked to set up teammates. Had 11 points and six assists.

6. Tyshawn Taylor: Played well with seven points, five rebounds and a steal in 13 minutes. But immediately after hitting a three-pointer from the right corner allowed an old bad habit to resurface and stood up too straight, getting beaten on the dribble, which caused him to reach in for a bad foul.

7. Thomas Robinson: Did a decent job defensively against Craig Brackins, but still is a turnover waiting to happen and commits too many fouls. Never stops hustling though.

8. Xavier Henry: Misfired on all six three-point attempts and produced just four points and two rebounds in 19 minutes.

9. Tyrel Reed: Made 1 of 3 three-pointers and had two assists without a turnover.

10. Markieff Morris: Had three points, one rebound, two assists and four personal fouls in seven minutes.

11. Elijah Johnson: Didn’t get in until the final minute.
