Dylan Edwards, a junior at Derby High School who is one of the most-sought football players in Kansas, narrowed his list of potential colleges to 10 on Friday and Kansas is among them.
Edwards, a running back who was named Gatorade’s Kansas Player of the Year in December, listed Oklahoma, Oregon, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Missouri, Washington, Nebraska, Kentucky and Jackson State as his other choices.
A 5-foot-9, 165-pound four-star running back, according to Rivals.com, Edwards ran for 2,603 yards and 40 touchdowns last season for Derby, which lost in the Class 6A title game in November to Blue Valley Northwest.
Through this process I was blessed enough to build great relationships with coaches, and I am forever grateful of that. These are my top 10 schools that i will focus on. I will take my 5 official visits In the months of June, and plan to commit shortly after that. ???????? pic.twitter.com/l5CBlKnoKX

Kansas running backs coach Jonathan Wallace has been recruiting Edwards, who has already taken an unofficial visit to campus.
Edwards, whose father, Leon, played at Kansas State from 1992-94, wrote on his social media accounts that he will try to take his five official visits in June and make a commitment afterward.
“No one realizes that I was really talking to them like that, but Coach Wallace — I’ve built the best relationship out of any running backs coach (with him),” Edwards [told 247Sports on Friday][1]. “He calls every day; he texts me every day. He shows up to my school all the time. If I don’t go there, he’s still going to be my guy.”
Kansas has not yet landed a commitment from any players in the Class of 2023.
