The Kansas women’s basketball team will have to wait another four days to return to action.
Per an official release sent out on Tuesday, Saturday’s matchup between Kansas and Oklahoma State has been postponed due to injury and COVID-19 protocols within the KU women’s basketball team. The Jayhawks (5-2, 1-0 Big 12) do not currently meet the roster thresholds set by the Big 12 conference.
It marks the fifth game that Kansas has had postponed or canceled due to COVID-19, including its third contest in a row. Last Friday, KU postponed its home meeting with West Virginia that was originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2. Kansas also postponed its road test against Iowa State, which was supposed to take place on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
Earlier in the year, the Jayhawks had their nonconference game against UT Rio Grande Valley canceled entirely. KU’s conference meeting with Texas in mid-December was also postponed around the same time. Kansas will work with the Big 12 Conference to reschedule the league games.
As of now, Kansas is slated to host Baylor on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
