After one redshirt season with the Kansas football program, defensive back D’Juan Moore officially has moved on.
The 5-foot-9 cornerback from Baltimore who had entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal this spring announced on Wednesday his plans to join the football team at the University of Delaware.
Moore, who tweeted out news of the move, told the Journal-World no animosity existed between him and his former teammates and coaches, and he transferred on good terms.
“I enjoyed my time at KU,” Moore said. “KU has helped me develop physically, mentally and spiritually. Being at student-athlete at Kansas taught me more life lessons than football. I can honestly say my journey there helped with my transition of being a Division I athlete and understanding life.”
A walk-on with KU who never played in a game for the Jayhawks, Moore will join Delaware, an FCS program, on scholarship.
Though he redshirted at KU in 2018 after playing his freshman season at Hartnell College (Calif.), Moore thought he “eventually” could have earned playing time with the Jayhawks “as time went on.” However, he said he was in need of “new scenery all together.”
