Kansas’ women’s golf team concluded its season with a seventh-place finish at Big 12 tournament Sunday in San Antonio.
KU freshman Yi-Tsen Chou fired a final-round 77 and tied for ninth with a 6-over 222 total. Other KU scores: Ariadna Fonseca Diaz (tie for 17th, 225), Victoria Chandra (tie for 24th, 228), Pitsinee Winyarat (tie for 35th, 233) and Chomchana Phuchanbanchob (45th, 240).
Texas won the tournament, followed by Iowa State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor, TCU, Kansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma.
Chou was also named to the All-Big 12 tournament team.
“We are very excited for Yi-Tsen have a top-10 finish as a freshman,” KU coach Erin O’Neil said. “She is very competitive, works hard and is willing to do the little things required to be a champion. It is only a matter of time before she breaks through and gets her first collegiate win under her belt.”
